Leeds United fans will be livid with Kalvin Phillips tweet about Manchester United legend David Beckham
Kalvin Phillips is a player who will always be thought of fondly by Leeds United fans, however, his latest tweet will have certainly angered some of the Elland Road faithful.
The Manchester City midfielder is currently with the England squad in Qatar and could well be in line to feature against France with Declan Rice missing England training through injury.
During one of the Three Lions’ recent training sessions, David Beckham decided to show his face, with the number of the squad getting photos with the former Manchester United midfielder.
Unfortunately for Leeds fans, Phillips decided to also take a quick snap with Beckham and to compound his antics, he referred to the United winger as a “legend” on his personal Twitter account (6 December).
Luckily the 27-year-old opted to sign for Manchester City over the summer instead of Leeds’ most bitter rivals and in fact, the blue side of Manchester will also be less than impressed with this photo.
However, we all know Leeds’ rivalry with the Red Devils is far more fierce and deep-rooted, so let’s hope this is just a simple mistake from the midfielder. He will always have a soft spot for Leeds and as long as he never puts a Manchester United shirt on, he will continue to be adored by the Elland Road faithful.

He’s set to return to West Yorkshire in the first fixture after the World Cup break as the Premier League champions take on Jesse Marsch’s side.
Phillips is bound to receive an exceptional reception when he does return. The Elland Road faithful will be hoping he does put on one of his midfield exhibitions to help City to victory on 28 December.
In other Leeds United news, Orta has been spotted at the club’s training camp in Spain, talking to a player whose Elland road future is in doubt.
