Leeds United eye 'Outstanding' behind-the-scenes appointment in 2023

Leeds United are reportedly looking for a Youth Development Phase Coach for their under-16s side to be finalised in the 2023 calendar year.

According to an advertisement placed on Football Careers, the Whites are eyeing a candidate for the delivery of coaching and player development activities within a specified age group

In their view, the ideal candidate must possess “outstanding” skills during training and games as well as a similar level of written, verbal and communication skills.

Good move

The applications shut by January 2023 so it’s pretty clear that the Whites do not want to rush with this appointment and give the candidates a month to apply.

It may not seem like an important position on the outside, but the club prioritises its famed Thorp Arch academy and this is a key role that needs to be filled.

We’re unsure if this position has just been created or if there was someone that’s left the job, but by the looks of it, it’s a pretty in-depth role so it perhaps is being recently set up.

It’ll be an important step towards making the academy an even better place for young players to come in and there have been countless examples of it producing players at the senior level.

We’re hoping that the right people apply to it and perhaps those with experience at a similar level as the experience at big clubs certainly come in handy.

The applications shut on 15 January so we’re expecting the candidate to then be appointed a few weeks after that.

In other Leeds United news, an attacker linked with a move to Elland Road claims that he could leave his Champions League club in the January transfer window.
