Leeds United encourage fans to protest outside Elland Road before Liverpool clash

Leeds United have encouraged their fans to protest ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool on Monday evening.

The Supporters Trust have shared the message after a meeting with the club this morning after news broke of the European Super League.

There has been outrage across football as the top-six clubs in England have signed up as founding sides that could see them kicked out of the domestic tournaments.

The Trust shared a message on their official Twitter account today, encouraging fans to protest, but to do it within COVID-19 guidelines.

“After a conversation with the club this morning we will be issuing a statement shortly,” they wrote.

“If any fans are planning on protesting this evening, we’d encourage you to do so, but please adhere to social distancing guidelines.”

Leeds on board.

The trust simply wouldn’t have encouraged any protesting outside of Elland Road, if the club themselves also weren’t involved.

Andrea Radrizzani has already shared his outrage at the news that includes this evening’s opponents Liverpool.

The Italian claimed that the new concept kills the dreams of other clubs not involved wanting to create their own legacy.

Although protests would make a stand against the likes of Liverpool, it would be even more powerful when their own fans fight back.

Fans have started to take down their flags in the Kop and Anfield, and we can guarantee that nearly every response on social media this evening will be outrage at this decision.

Time to fight back.
