Leeds United ‘doubts’ emerge as Simon Jordan hails ‘remarkable’ Ipswich live on talkSPORT
Simon Jordan has expressed his doubt that there will be another twist in the Championship season as he now expects Ipswich to do their job and pip Leeds United to promotion.
The talkSPORT broadcaster explained that Ipswich have got the difficult game out of the way by beating Coventry, and expects them to do the same against a struggling Huddersfield side.
He also praised the job done by Kieran McKenna in taking the Tractor Boys from League One to being on the brink of promotion to the Premier League.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [1 May, 10:10], Jordan explained: “I sincerely doubt it [another twist could occur]. That’s assuming Leeds win their game because if Leeds don’t win their game, Ipswich don’t need any points.
“Really and truly, I can’t imagine it. Huddersfield are in the bottom three for a reason, Ipswich are at home, the hard yards were done last night by going to Coventry and winning the game.
“I expect them to do more than enough to win the game. It’s a remarkable achievement.”
Simon Jordan shares new Leeds United promotion verdict
Ipswich’s 2-1 win against Coventry on 30 April means they need just one point against Huddersfield in the final game of the season to pip Leeds to automatic promotion after an intense race to earn promotion to the Premier League.
With Huddersfield all but relegated due to their poor goal difference, they will have very little to play for, leaning further towards what should be a routine Ipswich win to send them up and condemn Leeds to the playoffs.
Leeds only have themselves to blame after winning just one of their last five games, throwing away several opportunities when Ipswich also dropped points and failing to capitalise on their chance at securing promotion.

Daniel Farke’s side will face Southampton on the final day of the season knowing all they can do is win and hope Huddersfield can spring a surprise on their rivals, but as Jordan insisted, the chances of that seem very unlikely.
