Leeds United defender Max Wober may require surgery if Grade 3 rupture on hamstring – Injury Expert

Leeds United defender Max Wober could require surgery if there is a Grade 3 rupture on his hamstring, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that early signs suggest that it’s not too serious and a couple of weeks is what would be the most likely scenario.

This would undoubtedly rule him out of the clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 1 April, with Tyler Adams already set to miss it.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Wober picked up a hamstring problem.

“These range from the best case being one to two weeks for a very mild Grade 1 strain to 10+ weeks out for a Grade 3 rupture that requires surgery, see Tyler Adams for example.

“Like Gnonto, this also doesn’t look to be serious but these can be tricky due to the sensitive nature of the hamstrings and have high recurrence rates.”

Wober was taken off during the 4-1 Austria win v Azerbaijan on March 24 and head coach Ralf Rangnick then gave an update about his condition.

At that point, he allayed any fears but soon the Austrian defender was withdrawn from the squad and now remains a doubt for the Arsenal clash.

Javi Gracia will be providing updates on his condition in his press conference, but the likelihood of him missing the game is high.

In other Leeds United, the Whites are now in pole position to seal their first signing under Javi Gracia despite interest from a Premier League rival.
