Leeds United defender Luke Ayling fumes at Crysencio Summerville during Chelsea clash
Leeds United defender Luke Ayling was reportedly seen fuming at attacker Crysencio Summerville in the first half against Chelsea.
The Whites suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, 4 March, courtesy of a Wesley Fofana goal.
In the 22nd minute, there was a promising attack and Summerville could’ve combined with Weston McKennie but held on to the ball for too long and the attack broke down.
LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross witnessed this and wrote, “Once the ball went safely out of play, Luke Ayling would bound over to Summerville, red in the face and screaming at him. There was a quick arm around the shoulder, but the youngster was left with no doubt about how unimpressed the captain was with his ball management.”
Didn’t have the best of games himself
It’s rich of Ayling to be fuming at another player when he himself had plenty of moments where he deserved to be told off by his teammates.

He was often caught out of position while defending and that was not ideal as Chelsea could’ve scored a lot more than the solitary goal.
They had chances aplenty and many of them came on the right so Ayling needs a shouting from Javi Gracia to up his performance as well.
He’s been a faithful servant to this club but his best days are behind him and the Whites must consider finding someone better in the summer.
If Cody Drameh is that player then they’ve got to give him game time as nothing is going to happen with him being third choice again.
Rasmus Kristensen hasn’t done well enough to make that spot his own either and there needs to be some careful consideration as to what the club plan on doing in the future.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
