Leeds United defender Leo Hjelde returns from injury to play v West Ham U-23s
Leeds United have been handed an injury boost as Leo Hjelde has returned to action for the U23s in their game against West Ham on April 11.
The Norwegian, who has been part of the Whites first team, has missed the last two months of action.
However, he has amped up his recovery ahead of the Crystal Palace clash on April 26 with a return to the junior side for some fitness.
Via their official Twitter account, Leeds confirmed that Hjelde was starting this game.
Lewis Bate was also named in the playing eleven – another player on the fringes of the first team.
Good time
Leeds now have a two week break in the Premier League due to the FA Cup weekend.
That means that Hjelde will have another week to get himself in contention to be on the bench for the Palace side.
He’s unlikely to start a league game from now until the end of the season, but it is nice to have some more options in reserve.

Jesse Marsch too, will have not worked with him properly as he’s been injured since the time he joined Leeds.
Hopefully, he would have seen the teenager’s performance against the West Ham U-23s and planned something for him in the coming weeks.
The Norwegian was signed in the summer and there must be a reason why Marcelo Bielsa promoted him to the first team in his first year at the club.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
