Leeds United defender Leif Davis could leave for Bournemouth in the summer

Leif Davis could finalise his permanent exit from Leeds United by moving to Bournemouth in the summer, according to Dorset Live.

The report claims that there is a real possibility that his future could be at the Vitality Stadium beyond the end of the season.

He is currently on loan at the EFL Championship club and is expected to achieve promotion with them.

They do retain an option to buy at the end of the season and have only recently mulled over exercising it.

A few months ago, he was not rated in high regard at the club, but is now admired by manager Scott Parker who recently discussed signing him permanently.

“It’s possible. I think it is possible,” confirmed Parker. “I think there is (an option to buy). I don’t know the full details of the agreement we have. Obviously, at this moment it is a loan, but of course, the way Leif is going on the upturn – he’s doing everything right.”

Let go?

If Davis is promised minutes at Elland Road next season, then he may choose to reconsider his plans.

However, Marcelo Bielsa is unlikely to make such promises if he is the man in charge next season.

With Junior Firpo being the only out and out left-back, Leeds certainly need Davis as backup to him.

But he appears to have formed a good bond with Parker and should they secure promotion, he could look to join him permanently.

Davis’ sale would hurt some sections of the fanbase as he was tipped for big things by none other than Bielsa.

In 2019, he said, per Leeds Live, “In my opinion, Davis was far from the first team in our first year and after he worked a lot in the team, with brilliant willing, a lot of effort, dedication, he gives everything. Never demands anything.”

Big decisions are needed to be made and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
