Leeds United defender Junior Firpo open to Real Betis and Barcelona return
Leeds United defender Junior Firpo has revealed that he would be open to returning to Real Betis or Barcelona in the future.
Despite saying that, he claims that he wants to spend a lot of time at Elland Road, having moved there in the summer.
However, before he hangs up his boots, he sees himself back to the clubs that made it all happen for him.
Speaking to DAZN, as transcribed by AS, Firpo said, “I would love to spend a lot of time here, but, well, in the end, the house always wins and I would like to return to Betis, obviously.
“I didn’t even say no to Barça the first time and it would be very difficult to say no the second time, obviously.”
Saying no to a move to Barcelona will be hard and Firpo knows that too well.
Even Betis, who find themselves in third place now, could be a tempting prospect for him.
The Spain international moved to Leeds because Marcelo Bielsa wanted an attacking full-back to replace Gjanni Alioski.
However, should Bielsa leave, his successor may want nothing to do with Firpo.
In that case, a return to Spain would be an ideal option for Firpo as he thrived there.
He’s put in a few good performances for the Whites this term and will continue to thrive should h be given enough chances.
