Leeds United defender Cody Drameh linked with Elland Road exit despite impressing in training
Leeds United defender Cody Drameh “trained superbly” in Spain and could be given a chance to prove his worth against Real Sociedad on 16 December.
According to LeedsLive, the 21-year-old is linked with a move away from Elland Road and it remains to be seen whether it’s permanent or on loan.
His current deal at the club runs out in 18 months and it’s understood that a January transfer is on the cards for him.
Luke Ayling may be the vice captain and an important voice in the dressing room but he’s no longer the player he was.
He’s lost out on his place in the team to Rasmus Kristensen and it can be argued that Drameh is a better option to have in the team.
Ayling is on the wrong side of 30 and his body is already showing signs that he may no longer have the fitness to play week in and week out.
At 21, Drameh represents an important option for the future and he can also play in multiple positions so he’s someone worth keeping at the club.
If he wants game time, a loan could be on the cards but Leeds must extend his deal before they make any decision about loaning him out.
However, as things stand, that looks unlikely as they’ve already taken the contract extension off the table for the young defender.
