Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell dislocates shoulder in training – report

Leeds United have been hit by yet another huge injury twist in training this week at Thorp Arch ahead of the Arsenal game this evening.

The Daily Mail has reported that Charlie Cresswell has dislocated his shoulder, and will definitely miss the Premier League clash on Saturday.

The newspaper suggests that the England youth international was in line for another senior start for the Whites, but will now miss that chance.

It is yet another serious blow for Marcelo Bielsa to deal with.

Injuries have been a common theme of his tenure in West Yorkshire, but this is going too far and something must be going badly wrong given how severe the list is getting now.

Leeds only have nine senior players to choose from against Arsenal, and it would be no surprise to see yet another embarrassing result.

This latest blow means that Robin Koch is guaranteed to start in the heart of defence, with the German only just recovering from a long-term problem of his own plus illness.

What is going on?

This is becoming beyond a joke now.

Cresswell is one of our most senior players from the academy, and could have been a real asset as we run out of options.

When is it time to start questioning the training methods at Thorp Arch when players are dropping left, right and centre?

The defender must have been going at some force to dislocate his shoulder, and surely there has to be a level of caution now we simply have nearly no-one left available.

With those dropping like flies around him, this is now a real opportunity for Koch to come back in and stake his claim for a starting spot alongside Diego Llorente.

He simply has to have a huge evening against the Gunners or we could be in trouble yet again – fingers crossed.
