Leeds United: Daniel Farke ‘spitting crumbs of cake’ at possible outcome in Wales v Finland
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will be “spitting crumbs of cake everywhere” should a certain development happen when Wales face Finland, according to Graham Smyth.
Five Leeds regulars are expected to start the Euro 2024 play-off qualifier at Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday evening (21 March).
Daniel James, Connor Roberts, Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon will hope to edge Wales closer to a place in Germany, while Glen Kamara will represent opponents Finland.
Speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast [21 March, 2m 4s], Smyth asked if there’s a chance all five players contest a loose ball at the same time.
Joe Donnohue replied: “So you’ve got Roberts and James on the right wing, Rodon as a right-sided centre-back, Ethan Ampadu probably in midfield…”
Smyth then added: “So it could happen. Can you imagine Daniel Farke sat on his sofa spitting crumbs of cake everywhere as all five men go for the same loose 50-50 ball?
“Honestly, I’d back Kamara to turn out of that with the ball, with a lovely little disguise and pop it off to someone.”
Leeds United stars to face off in Wales v Finland clash
Club managers will have their fingers crossed that each of their international contingent return from duty in one piece after this final window of the season.
In this instance, Farke faces the prospect of seeing one of his players potentially injure another in what should be a game full of crunching tackles.

The obvious question to ask is who exactly Farke wants to see advance from this tie, but Rodon has already joked that he is backing Kamara due to the Finn being heavily outnumbered.
Whoever comes out on top, let’s just hope there are no knocks picked up in this game and both sides’ next fixtures early next week.
Given the tight turnaround between those games next Tuesday (26 March) and the trip to Watford three days later, Farke has every reason to have his fingers tightly crossed.
