Leeds United could seal Ryan Kent transfer in weeks after Rangers news emerges today
Leeds United and Victor Orta could seal a transfer for Ryan Kent within weeks after Rangers boss Michael Beale shared today that the winger will sit down for crunch contract talks over the international break.
The Herald’s Chris Jack reported on 14 December 2022 that Rangers have already turned down a “sizeable” approach from the Whites for Kent in the past.
Now, with the winger currently available to sign a pre-contract transfer as his deal expires in the summer, should those talks with the Scottish giants not go well, he could be available on the spot.

“We’re both on the same page and I think it’s right after the amount of years he’s been here, and his third manager here as well, that he takes the time to consider his options and it’s the same time we do as well,” said Beale as quoted by Football Scotland. (10 March)
“We’ve not put anything in front of him. We’ve just had conversations. At this moment in time, I think that’s the best place to be.
“We just keep moving forward. I’m still building the squad that I want for next year and if he’s in, it’s because he desperately wants to be here. If he’s out, it’s because he didn’t.
“It’s quite clear in that sense and our relationship will always remain the same. He’s a young boy that I see at the start of his journey so I’m very proud of what he’s achieved so far in his career.”

One to watch.
Ominous words from Beale who clearly seems to be on the fence as to whether Kent will commit his future to the Gers for next season and beyond.
It would hardly be surprising if Kent wanted to come back to the Premier League and Elland Road could be the perfect playground for the silky winger to find his feet.
With Jack Harrison way off it and being linked with a move away from West Yorkshire, Kent would be the ideal replacement for him or some solid competition at the very least.
And with Leeds United far from firing in the forward departments, Kent may add some fire-power to the currently lacklustre Whites attack.
Reinforcements will be needed if the Whites are to secure Premier League status for next season and the club could do far worse than the Europa League finalist.
Kent came through the academy system at Liverpool and has even played for Barnsley and Bundesliga outfit Frieberg during his young career.
This kind of experience is always nice to have in the squad and it feels like Kent is ready for a big step up in competition from the Scottish Premiership.
Should Orta make a move? He may be foolish to not even explore it.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
