Leeds United could make move for Divock Origi as he bids farewell to Liverpool

Leeds United could make a move for Divock Origi as he’s already said his goodbyes to Liverpool with his contract expiring this summer.

In December, Yorkshire Post compiled a six player list that the Whites could sign ahead of the January window and included the Belgian’s name in it.

They made a glaring mistake of not signing a number nine and paid the price for it which led to them almost getting relegated.

The tweet above clearly shows that his chapter at Anfield has come to an end and he is free to speak to whichever club he wants.

The Mirror claim that AC Milan is expected to be his next destination, but if Origi wants to stay in England then Leeds can offer him the chance.

He will get more game time at Elland Road than he will at the San Siro and that could be the trade off for the lack of Champions League football.

In a World Cup year, Origi will surely be wanting to play as much as he can as there are no guarantees of him being named in the Belgium squad.

This opens the door for Victor Orta to make a cheeky eleventh hour swoop and try to convince Origi to move to Leeds United.

Jesse Marsch can also speak to him and show him that Leeds are heading in the right direction as they’ve already completed three signings this summer.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared if a ‘Sensational’ defensive midfielder has agreed terms for an Elland Road switch and become the club’s fourth summer signing.
