Leeds United could finalise Rasmus Kristensen transfer while on Denmark international duty

Leeds United could finalise the deal to sign RB Salzburg defender Rasmus Kristensen while he is still on international duty, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper has reported [06 June, pg. 56] that the Whites may not need to wait until this current international break a week on Monday is over after all.

The Whites are still understood to be favourites to seal the £10million transfer and are set to welcome one of their priority targets to Elland Road with the announcement potentially now imminent.

It was first reported that Leeds may need to wait until after this current international break to get this deal finalised and formally announced to the world.

Denmark have three more games to play in the next seven days, starting this evening [06 June], meaning it could have been a nervous wait over the deal.

Leeds will be wanting to get it finalised and announced as soon as possible given the likes of Borussia Dortmund could still be sniffing around.

Victor Orta has already been to New York City at the start of this month, so a detour over to Denmark to get this deal finalised would be no problem.

The Mirror has already reported that a bid has been accepted by RB Salzburg, so all that is left is to iron out a contract and sort out the medical with Kristensen.

Given that he is still playing with Denmark and hasn’t returned home to Austria early, we can assume his fitness is at top levels and all examinations should go smoothly.

Leeds will be looking to get this one finalised quickly, and we could see an imminent announcement in the next couple of days as they start the window with a real bang.

Jesse Marsch will be delighted to get two players he knows really well through the door at Elland Road, and there is a real excitement starting to grow around the club.
