Leeds United could explore deal to sign RB Leipzig ace Tyler Adams, exit likely – Tom Bogert

Leeds United could now explore a deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams, according to Tom Bogert.

The American journalist reported that the Whites are not favourites to sign the German-based player after securing Premier League safety on Sunday evening against Brentford.

Jesse Marsch worked with Adams at New York Red Bulls, even handing him his professional debut, with the potential transfer certainly one to watch this summer.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Bogert shared the possibility of the Whites bringing yet another American to Elland Road in the summer.

“Next for Leeds United after securing their Premier League survival? Explore a deal for Tyler Adams.

“Jesse Marsch gave Adams his pro debut, worked with him at Red Bull New York. Adams likely to leave Leipzig this summer. Certainly wouldn’t call Leeds favourite to sign him, though.

“We’ll see.”

Not favourites?

Leeds may not be favourites at this stage, but given how close Marsch is to Adams, that could all change very quickly in the coming weeks.

Staying in the Premier League for a third season has already opened so many doors for the Whites, who will kickstart their summer business by concluding the deal for Brenden Aaronson.

Some will call it an American revolution if Adams is added too, but this is a player who has succeeded in the Bundesliga and in European competitions with RB Leipzig.

Hopefully, if he did arrive, it would be alongside Kalvin Phillips and not instead of him.

The Yorkshire Pirlo admitted he would want to sign a new contract if Leeds survive, and we assume that the ball is now in the court of Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers.

It’s time to really kick on and move forward now, rather than going backwards like we slowly have done during this season, only surviving at the final hurdle.

This is one to watch.
