Leeds United could be without Raphinha in winter due to FIFA scheduling problem
Leeds United could be without Raphinha for a period of time in January and February due to the scheduling of the South American qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup.
This was the last international break until March for most players, but that is not the case for Brazilian players [Leeds Live].
As a result of this, the Whites could be without arguably their best player for Brazil’s games on the 27th of January and the 1st of February.
Luckily, the Whites don’t have a game in that time, but they could have an FA Cup fourth-round tie to play, depending on if they get through the third round.
A slight inconvenience for the Whites.
This doesn’t look to be the worst thing in the world for Leeds, but if Brazil do call the 24-year-old up for these games, there could be a risk of him getting an injury.
Now, that would be a nightmare for the Whites, so hopefully, they decide to leave him at Elland Road until March.
Certainly, it looks as if Raphinha has a big international future ahead of him, which means that he could be rested for these games in January and February because they have already qualified for the World Cup.
The last thing the Whites need is for one of their star players to be flying off in the middle of winter to go and play a meaningless match.
Luckily, there are no Premier League games scheduled at that time, but you would think that if the Whites can find a way around it, they will.
