Leeds United consider appointing Torino manager Ivan Juric

Leeds United are reportedly considering Torino manager Ivan Juric as they’re looking at different options to replace Jesse Marsch.

According to Mo Ibrahim, a number of names are being considered with West Brom’s Carlos Corberan also understood to be in contention.

If no replacement is found in time, Chris Armas will take charge of the first team against rivals Manchester United.

Reporting via Twitter, Ibrahim, who is part of Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio’s staff, wrote, “Leeds United exploring new managers, been told lots of names being considered with a few of them being Carlos Corberan and Ivan Juric.

“Chris Armas set to lead the squad if no one is appointed by Wednesday, meaning Armas will manage Leeds vs Man United.”

A number of managers will be considered over the coming days as it’s a big decision and they cannot give it to anyone without interviewing multiple candidates for the role.

Juric’s name is an interesting one because he hasn’t been linked previously to a Premier League club so it remains to be seen how serious Leeds’ interest in him is.

He likes to play on the front foot and fancies keeping possession even if it means a slightly lower tempo of the game – something like what Pep Guardiola prefers.

The Croatian is said to be adaptable and flexible in his tactical approach which varies from different opponents as well as the players he’s got at his disposal.

He has been known to use different formations and systems, including a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, and a 3-5-2, in order to get the best results.

Leeds certainly have decent players to fit into all the systems mentioned above so it will be interesting to see if they end up pursuing the services of Juric – someone who won Serie A’s Panchina d’Argento award in the 2015/16 season for being the second best manager in the league.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now preparing to sign a former Barcelona defender in the summer and have already taken decisive steps towards sealing the deal.
