Leeds United: Connor Douglas joins injury list at Elland Road with ankle issue

Leeds United under-18s ace Connor Douglas has been ruled out for several weeks after suffering an ankle injury, according to LUFCYouth.

The attacker has been a key player for his team this season, making 18 appearances for the side in all competitions.

The 17-year-old, who has six goals and three assists to his name, has also made two appearances for the club’s under-21s.

“Leeds United under-18s midfielder Connor Douglas has suffered an ankle injury and will be sidelined for a number of weeks,” LUFC Youth wrote on Twitter.

“Speedy recovery, Connor!”

Massive blow

Not only has Douglas been shining for the club’s under-18s this season, he also boasts two goals from his two under-21s appearances.

The youngster is definitely highly thought of in West Yorkshire, with his teammates and coaches certain to miss him in the coming weeks.

Competent on either wing, Douglas is a superb academy prospect that will no doubt break into the first team in the near future.

A senior debut is now out of the question anytime soon, with that debut perhaps not coming this season anyway given the current struggles of the first team.

The Whites have been impacted by injuries at all levels, with the likes of Tyler Adams and Stuart Dallas currently sideline for the senior side, who have only just welcomed back Max Wober.

While the first team won’t be feeling the effects of the injury to Douglas, it will still send more frustration throughout Elland Road amid the club’s miserable campaign.
