Leeds United confirm starting XI v Arsenal
Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for the game against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Marcelo Bielsa has made four changes from the side that drew Wolverhampton Wanderers as he looks to take the Whites on a cup run.
Illan Meslier keeps his place in goal at the Emirates.
He will be protected by a back four consisting of Stuart Dallas, Diego Llorente, Pascal Struijk, and Cody Drameh.
Kalvin Phillips plays as the sitting defensive midfielder, with Adam Forshaw playing alongside him.
Dan James and Jack Harrison start on the wings with Tyler Roberts in behind Rodrigo.
A strong enough team from Bielsa.
With Mikel Arteta expected to make plenty of changes as well, this is a strong team from the Whites, and they should stand a good chance of making it through to the next round.
We are particularly excited to see Drameh and Phillips in the side, while Roberts needs a goal.
If things start to go wrong, there are plenty of younger players who Bielsa can call on as well as Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood.
So, there are options available to the Whites.
The last time Leeds played the Gunners in a cup competition, they narrowly lost 1-0 while they were still in the Championship, and this is an opportunity for them to go one better and launch a cup run.
We can’t wait for this game to get underway and believe that the Whites have a good chance of getting a win.
In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports have provided an update on Raphinha’s injury ahead of the Arsenal match.
