Leeds United breaking news as man arrested after Elland Road trouble - Phil Hay
Phil Hay has shared that a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the security threat at Elland Road, which forced Leeds United to evacuate earlier today (Friday, 24 March).
The club’s ticket office, foundation offices and the club shop have all been closed to the public through the police’s advice today.
Taking to Twitter on Friday afternoon, The Athletic’s Hay shared a breaking update on the security issue at Elland Road.
He wrote: “Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the security threat which forced the evacuation of Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium today.”

Although the news that a man has been arrested for starting the disturbance today, it will remain a worry nonetheless.

Security at football grounds is always of paramount importance, and when this is troubled, it must be taken extremely seriously.
Hopefully, now that someone has been arrested in connection to the security threats, the club can put this problem behind them and be able to resume their usual lives in the coming days.
Football, and especially football at Elland Road, has always been of paramount importance to fans, so whenever something like this happens, it is always a huge worry.
However, with the culprit hopefully found and the threat now dealt with, the club can look forward to their next Premier League home encounter against Crystal Palace on 4 April.
The Whites will need all the support they can get for the upcoming Premier League matches, so hopefully, the issue today can be put to bed and the club can move on.
