Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch kicks scarf thrown by 'angry' fan

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch showed his frustration last night (March 10) as he kicked away a scarf thrown at by an “angry” fan.

The Whites suffered a 3-0 defeat at Elland Road at the hands of Aston Villa, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone in 16th

Things soon turned ugly as the fans directed their anger towards the Leeds hierarchy.

“Half an hour before the end of the game one fan tore off their scarf with the Leeds colours and threw it at Jesse Marsch in the technical area,” Woozencroft told talkSPORT

“He turned round and noticed it, and he kicked the scarf and I actually thought that was a poignant moment.”

He added: “At the end of the game here inside Elland Road there were some strong words directed towards the directors box here.

“Victor Orta, their technical director and the rest of the suits, the hierarchy here at Leeds United.

“‘Oh Marcelo Bielsa’ is sung around Elland Road, they miss their former manager, they believed in him, they do not believe in Jesse Marsch.”

It looks as if the Leeds owners have made a huge mistake in sacking Marcelo Bielsa.

His brilliant spell with the club came to an abrupt end with the Whites’ form under his direction almost guaranteeing Championship football next season.

He was completely unwilling to change his tactics all season long despite so many injuries which didn’t help the Argentine but so soon into Marsch’s reign, it looks like the manager isn’t the problem.

The players just aren’t giving enough. The game against Leicester was a positive step in the right direction but last night was embarrassing with players sulking as soon as the going got tough.

It is very early to call with it only being Marsch’s second game in charge and there clearly being a long-term vision at the club, but it seems as if the owners have made a huge mistake in sacking the best Whites manager ever.
