Leeds United target Noussair Mazraoui offered contract by Barcelona - report

Barcelona have offered a contract to Leeds United target Noussair Mazraoui who is set to leave Ajax at the end of the season, according to TEAMtalk.

The defender admitted in January that after 16 years with the Eredivisie champions, he is ready for a new challenge.

The Whites will be on red alert with a host of European clubs eyeing a move for the 24-year-old who’s contract is up at the end of the season.

Leeds chief Victor Orta is interested in the right-back as potential cover for Luke Ayling.

Great intent

With so many European giants including the likes of AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and of course Barcelona sniffing around the defender it is very unlikely he will move to Elland Road.

That isn’t to say a move is impossible because stranger things have happened in football, but it is difficult to see the Moroccan join the Whites which is hugely disappointing considering his quality and experience.

Despite acquiring the players signature being a huge doubt for Leeds, it is still good news they are being mentioned with a player of his calibre.

It shows great intent from the clubs’ owners to improve on this squad which is obviously much needed. If this squad that has been decimated for large parts of the season isn’t provided with the back-up it so desperately needs in the summer, the fans will be fuming.

They have to give Marsch all the tools he needs for success which it looks like they will.
