Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto in hospital due to injury, remains doubt to face Arsenal

Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto is reportedly in hospital after suffering an injury during the international break, making him a doubt for the game against Arsenal.

The 19-year-old suffered an ankle problem in Italy’s 2-0 win over Malta on Sunday, 26 March, and had to limp off after just 22 minutes.

Injury expert Ben Dinnery claims that he is in the hospital and has a 50 per cent chance of not being available for the game at the Emirates Stadium.

International break blues

There are some things one cannot control in football and that’s players picking up injuries while on international duty.

Leeds fans would’ve been happy that he didn’t start the defeat against England, coming off the bench in the second half.

However, he was named in the eleven against Malta and that didn’t go as per plan with him needing to be withdrawn rather quickly.

The club will hope that it’s not too serious but the fact that he’s in hospital will mean that there’s a good chance he misses the game against Arsenal.

Going to the Emirates is never an easy thing, especially given the form they’re in right now and Javi Gracia will be counting on one of his other attacking players to step up.

Jack Harrison has been doing well recently and Crysencio Summerville’s relatively relaxed international break should put him in contention to start as well.

In other Leeds United, the Whites are now in pole position to seal their first signing under Javi Gracia despite interest from a Premier League rival.
