Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto could miss up to six weeks of football if the ankle injury he picked up on international duty is a serious one.
That’s according to injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar who claims that he’s doubtful to be fit in time for the game against Arsenal on 1 April.
He believes that while the worst-case scenario rules him out for over a month, this appears to be a common type of ankle injury.

If that is the case, he should be in contention for the game against Nottingham Forest on 4 April.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, explained Gnonto’s situation and said, “It sounds like this was the most common type of ankle injury which is inversion sprain where the ankle turns inwards.
“These can range from best case day to day to worse case being over six weeks out but indications thus far are that this isn’t serious.
“He’s a doubt to face Arsenal this weekend but should be in contention following that, based on the info we have thus far.”
Gnonto picked up an injury during the international break when he started the 2-0 win for Italy against Malta on 26 March.

He had to be taken off the pitch in the first half and injury expert Ben Dinnery claimed that he was in hospital as well following the ankle injury.
No further updates have emerged and it remains to be seen what Javi Gracia says in his pre-match press conference.
In other Leeds United, the Whites are now in pole position to seal their first signing under Javi Gracia despite interest from a Premier League rival.
