Leeds United could have the services of Spain international Rodrigo for the Brighton game after he missed the weekend clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to LeedsLive, the 30-year-old's return is on the cards after suffering a minor foot injury in the build-up to the Spurs game.

Marcelo Biela has been tight-lipped about the extent of his absence, but it is not understood to be something that should keep him out for more than a game.

Welcome news

Rodrigo may not have the same impact on games like Patrick Bamford does when he leads the line for Leeds.

However, he is a full Spain international and has a decent amount of experience playing in Europe.

He's never known to be a potent goal scorer, but is an extremely hard-working player who's got a terrific footballing brain on him.

With Bamford's absence, he is almost a guaranteed starter for Bielsa's side and the Argentine surely must be pleased with what the 30-year-old brings to the table for his side.

Hopefully, he is back in time for the Brighton clash as the Whites need that focal point who can put the Seagulls defence on the back foot.

Joe Gelhardt has been decent, but it's too early in his career to rely on him week in and week out.

The most fans can expect from him is a few cameos here and there as he's still a raw attacker with several aspects of his game that need working on.
