Leeds United: Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour share title verdict live on air in Leicester City admission

Leeds United and Ipswich Town could be able to overtake Leicester City and win automatic promotion to the Premier League this season, according to Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil.

Daniel Farke’s side moved above Ipswich and three points off of the table-topping Foxes with an impressive 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto at Hillsborough.

While there are still nine games left to play, Leicester’s recent poor form partnered with the consistency of the Whites has left Parlour questioning whether or not Farke’s side could lift the Premiership title this term.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (11 March, 6:57) he said: “I look at it now, Leeds will be thinking can we somehow get up automatically and Ipswich will be the same, do you see Leicester dropping off a little bit because results recently haven’t been great for either side?

“They’re three points above Leeds at the moment, four above Ipswich. Could you see Leeds and Ipswich maybe overtaking Leicester?”

Brazil responded, saying: “No they haven’t, but Leicester are still a very good side. I watched them play Leeds at Elland Road and they’ll be kicking themselves getting beaten in that game. Anything can happen in that league, but I think Liecteer will regroup and find form again.”

Will Leeds United beat Ipswich Town and Leicester City to the Premier League under Daniel Farke?

The race at the top of the Championship is really heating up and it seems like any of the three teams near the top of the table could not only win automatic promotion but also the title this season.

Leeds are in the best form and under Farke’s management in 2024 the Whites have basically been unbeatable with a mix of excellent attacking talent and defensive stability thanks to Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon.

Farke’s side are now in an excellent position to make an immediate return to the Premier League, but they’ll have to be near perfect if they want to beat Leicester City to the title and win the Championship this season.

Hopefully, the other two will continue to slip up between now and the end of the season so that Leeds can book their place in the top flight next season. But as Brazil suggested, you never know what’s around the corner in the Championship.
