Leeds United ace Jaidon Anthony sends message to Chelsea star Reece James after surgery update
Leeds United winger Jaidon Anthony has sent a message to Chelsea star Reece James following his injury update.
The Blues defender has had surgery in an attempt to fix a recurring hamstring injury, as reported by BBC Sport (21 December).
James was substituted after 26 minutes in the loss to Everton earlier this month, his first start since 25 November after a previous hamstring injury had ruled him out for eight games.

Sharing an update from hospital, James posted on Instagram (21 December): “The footballing world knew I got injured but the procedure I would go down this time took slightly longer to figure out the best solution.
“I had surgery today to try fix my reoccurring hamstring issue, the recovery has started, both physically and mentally. Since this injury I’ve had a good amount of support but significantly more hate and negativity.
“Believe me I don’t wanna be injured, I’m happiest when I’m playing football. Thanks to the understanding people that support me despite the highs or the lows, it goes a long way. Stay well, Reece.”
Among those sending messages of support to the Chelsea captain was Leeds winger Anthony, who is on loan at Elland Road from Bournemouth.

Well wishes
The footballing world has been showing its support for the Chelsea man, who has really had a rough time of it lately with injuries.
But he will undoubtedly get back to his best on the pitch in the near future, having already enjoyed a superb career at the age of 24.
Fellow 24-year-old Anthony meanwhile has plenty to focus on at Leeds, with the winger not looked upon so favourably by manager Daniel Farke in recent times.
The Bournemouth loanee has been handed random minutes here and there by the German, but was forced to watch on from the bench for the entirety of the 1-1 draw with Coventry City on Saturday (16 December).
Farke has a long list of talented attackers to choose from, with the likes of Georginio Rutter, Joel Piroe, Willy Gnonto, Dan James and Crysencio Summerville all at his disposal. It means Anthony must work hard on the training ground if he is to land a rare starting spot on matchday.
In other Leeds United news, Joe Rodon has responded to a permanent Whites move in a January transfer window question.
