Leeds United defender Joe Rodon has reacted to a permanent January transfer window question, according to Adam Pope.

The central defender is currently on a season-long loan at Elland Road from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old Wales international has made 19 appearances for his temporary club so far this season, all of which have come in the Championship.

According to Pope [X, 20 December], when asked if he would like his future settled in January, Rodon replied: “I can’t answer that question. All I can focus on is the next game and we’ll see what happens….. my job is to give everything and be as successful as I possibly can with this team and this club.”

Lips sealed

Rodon will be trying his best to keep his focus on doing all he can to help Leeds maintain their promotion push this season.

But there will also be a part of the player that will want to have his long-term future resolved swiftly, with the defender unsure of his standing at his parent club, and indeed at his temporary club.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is clearly satisfied with the centre-back’s performances this season, with Rodon missing just two Championship matches this season, having arrived after the opening day draw with Cardiff City.

He has used all of his experience from his time with Tottenham and in the Wales national team to form a solid partnership alongside Pascal Struijk.

The pair have been reliable thus far under Farke, but must maintain their performances throughout the entire season if the Whites are to be in with a real chance of promotion back to the Premier League.
