Leeds United winger Ian Poveda is seeking more first-team chances in the Premier League this season, according to AS.

The Colombian outlet have shared that the 20-year-old has asked to feature more prominently and is willing to do anything to earn that.

Poveda has come off the bench five times this season and has also featured for the under-23s frequently at Thorp Arch.

AS have claimed that Poveda is under "rigorous" monitoring by Marcelo Bielsa, after sending him to the academy side.

The winger started against West Brom this week, alongside other first-team players Rodrigo, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts.

Competition has soared this season at Elland Road, with Raphinha and Jack Harrison starting against Arsenal last weekend.

Costa was also in the bench in that 0-0 draw, but it was Poveda who was given the nod by Bielsa to come on and try and find a winner.

Looking at Poveda's stats this season, he has impressed.

The only area in which he may need to improve is his final product - both in creating and finishing chances for the Whites.

Against the Gunners, the 20-year-old completed 75% of his actions according to WyScout, which is the most he has managed since joining Leeds in January last season.

At this moment in time, Poveda seems to be better coming off the bench and injecting more pace into the Whites when it is needed. The likes of Harrison and Raphinha clearly have more class, and will likely start against Everton on Saturday.
