Khvicha Kvaratskhelia asking price revealed by selling club

Rubin Kazan have revealed that if Leeds offer £18million Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then they wouldn’t be able to turn it down this January.

The Whites have been previously linked with a transfer for the winger as they look to avoid relegation and get back on track under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Georgian international has also been linked with Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Juventus and now the Russian club have revealed what it would take for them to part ways with their star man.

Speaking to Soccer RU, Rubin Kazan’s general manager Rusten Saimanov admitted that while they want to keep him for as long as they can there comes a point where they can’t refuse the cash.

“What if they offer 20 million (euros) for him? I can’t refuse,” he said.

This is a deal that has all the makings of going one of two ways – either a masterstroke or a complete flop.

Kvaratskhelia was excellent last season with four goals and four assists in 20 starts domestically, but it was his flashy dribbling and pace that really caught the eye.

This season though, since his summer move didn’t happen as expected, he seems to have lost his mojo a little and he’s scored just once in 15 appearances so far.

His energetic style really would suit Bielsa’s side and would provide an injection of quality into a side bereft of it right now, as they look to fight off relegation.

Currently Raphinha is the only player that is performing to his level, so some added help would be great. If he continues to underperform though, he’d be a bigger hinderance than a help.
