Leeds talks with Lewis O’Brien intensify after Conor Gallagher snub

Leeds United have intensified their transfer talks this week after being snubbed by Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The Sun has reported that Victor Orta singled out Huddersfield Town’s Lewis O’Brien after that initial disappointment.

Talks are said to have intensified in recent days as this potential move starts to gather serious pace in West Yorkshire.

Leeds have moved quickly, and are looking to tie up this deal soon by the looks of things.

A number of different players have been mentioned to throw into the deal to bring down that price, but that looks unlikely for now.

Carlos Corberan will have a brilliant relationship with the Whites and Marcelo Bielsa, and that could certainly help negotiations.

O’Brien will surely want the move across West Yorkshire.

The 22-year-old won’t need to move area and is guaranteed Premier League football, something which is highly unlikely with the Terriers.

After they enjoyed their two-year spell in the top-flight, Huddersfield had to transition, and they have in many ways started again.

With talks intensifying, a deal could be concluded very soon and O’Brien could even be through the door before the opener against Manchester United in two weeks time.

Gallagher decided to make the move to Crystal Palace rather than fight for a spot at Elland Road, and that is something that O’Brien will be relishing.

We have seen the 22-year-old many times, and every single time he is the one driving his side forward and pressing – something Bielsa will love.

Expect movement soon.
