Leeds’ Premier League relegation chances predicted by supercomputer after West Ham win

Leeds United’s clash with West Ham on Friday was labelled as a six-pointer by most observers.

Leeds secured a 2-1 victory over the Londoners, with first-half goals from Brenden Aaronson and Joe Rodon making the difference.

The Elland Road outfit are up to 13th place in the Premier League, with 11 points from their first nine matches back in the division.

Leeds expected to stay in the Premier League

Leeds are desperate to avoid relegation from the Premier League, and buck the trend of the promoted teams going right back down.

The latest Opta supercomputer prediction, from 25 October, has the Whites finishing in 16th place in the division.

The outlet gives Farke’s side a 33.18 per cent chance of being relegated back to the Championship after the victory over the Hammers.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, Burnley and Wolves are predicted to go down, with Leeds comfortably retaining their top-flight status.

Leeds cannot get carried away anytime soon

Farke and Co. will know that they can not read too much into the latest prediction, and if their form drops off, then they could be right back in the relegation mire.

The Whites need to put as much daylight between themselves and the bottom three as possible before the business end of the season.

The data at the moment, suggests that they are heading in the right direction to achieve their ambitions, of remaining a top-flight outfit for the foreseeable future, but that could change quickly if the levels drop.

Farke’s job is to make sure that does not happen, although, that will be a difficult task considering they face Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool within their next six matches.

If they manage to get through that run, and pick up some points, they will have every chance to ensure survival.
