Leeds handed major boost with Jack Grealish ruled out for Aston Villa

Leeds United have been handed a huge boost following Dean Smith’s announcement that Jack Grealish will be absent this weekend.

The Whites are set to host Aston Villa at Elland Road on Saturday, and after Grealish missed their game against Leicester last week the England international is set for an extended period on the sidelines.

Leeds have suffered through an inconsistent run of results throughout February and now it could be time to take advantage of Villa’s weaknesses to boost their end of season push.

Marcelo Bielsa has done a terrific job in taking Leeds as far as he has in such a short space of time, with the club’s return to the Premier League seeing them progress much faster than many may have anticipated.

Though Europe might be slightly out of reach for the Whites this season, a top half finish is certainly on the cards, so long as the club can make performances count when they need to.

Aston Villa have been somewhat of a mixed bag this season and after suffering a dip in form as of late, the loss of their captain will likely have further negative repercussions for their performance levels.

With Villa’s attack muted to some degree, Marcelo Bielsa will hope that his side can get the job done without any major hiccups.

Leeds can secure back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time since late January if they can put Villa to the sword, and it’s fair to assume that the club have all the tools they would need to do just that.

Ultimately Bielsa will be left disappointed if his side can’t get business done, so let’s hope the Whites can claim all three points against the Villans.
