Leeds figure Victor Orta not for sale with Newcastle bound to come calling - Graham Smyth
Graham Smyth has insisted that Victor Orta is “not for sale” at Leeds United as interest mounts in the Spaniard.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist shared his thoughts with Newcastle one club to have taken an interest.
Today’s opponents in the Premier League are looking for a new Director of Football, with Orta’s name said to be on their list during conversations.
Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post, Smyth shared Leeds’ view on the matter with potential contact mooted.
“When Newcastle United’s new decision-makers first sat down to discuss candidates for their director of football vacancy, Victor Orta’s name came up,” he wrote.
“Orta is not for sale and those close to him at Leeds don’t believe he will work in England again when his time at Elland Road comes to an end.”
Orta bleeds white, blue and yellow, and there is simply no chance of him leaving Elland Road for another Premier League club.
Newcastle may be mega-rich after their takeover, but this is the first sign that they can’t just bring in anyone they want because of that.
Andrea Radrizzani would simply laugh off any approach or interest in his transfer guru, who is busy away trying to make moves this month.
Brenden Aaronson of RB Salzburg is his main concern in the next 10 days, never mind a potential switch to St James’ Park.
Let’s pick up those three points today and rub salt into the wound even more – Orta is going nowhere.
