Leeds active for major new signings, talks progressing - Graham Smyth
Leeds United are “progressing” with their move for a major new signing in the January window, according to Graham Smyth.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist has shared that the Whites are finally “active” in the window as they look to strengthen their squad.
Midfield has been labelled as the target area at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa lacking in options due to injuries.
Writing on his personal Twitter account this lunchtime, Smyth shared what he has been told about signings this month.
“They’re active,” he wrote.
“Things are ‘progressing’ we’re told.”
Get it done.
This is the news we have all been waiting for this week.
Leeds are crying out for new additions this month, regardless of how Bielsa and Victor Orta feel about the January window.
With talks active and progressing, it shouldn’t be long until they can get something over the line, hopefully before Sunday’s trip to West Ham again.
That would be the perfect motivation for the squad, with a new face in and Andrea Radrizzani splashing the cash alongside the 49ers.
Leeds have managed to keep the majority of things quiet in the first 10 days of this window, but it looks as though they could be about to put their foot on the gas.
A new midfielder has to be the priority, and with things active at Elland Road, we could be seeing a new face on the bench on Sunday afternoon.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared if the Whites are in the ‘advanced’ stages of any January signings
