Laura Woods quizzes Ray Parlour and Ally McCoist as they make Leeds United prediction live on talkSPORT
Ray Parlour and Ally McCoist were in agreement live on talkSPORT when quizzed by Laura Woods about Leeds United’s chances of survival in the Premier League.
The Whites claimed a huge win over Wolves at the weekend (18 March) to move up to 14th place in the table, but are just two points clear of the drop zone heading into the international break with 11 games to play.
When asked by Woods live on the talkSPORT breakfast show (21 March, 9:53am), former Arsenal midfielder Parlour admitted that he was excited by the end of the season run-in and predicted Leeds to finish in 16th place come the end of the campaign.
“It’s going to be so exciting though, isn’t it?” he said.
“You’ve got to pick three, so my three will be and if you support these clubs then I’m sorry I’m saying this, but Southampton, Bournemouth and I’m going to say Nottingham Forest because of their away record.
“Above them, I’m going to go Everton and they’re all about next season and rebuilding under Sean Dyche, and then I’m going to go Leeds.”

Responding to Parlour, Ally McCoist agreed with Parlour’s prediction for the bottom six teams.
“You won’t believe it, I’m going to genuinely say, I’ve actually got the probably same bottom six.”
Hope
Before the win over Wolves at the weekend, it was hard to find anyone who believed Leeds would be safe because we couldn’t buy a win for love nor money.
But scoring four goals on the road at Molineux and showing terrific spirit has lifted the morale of everyone around the club and now there is belief it can be done.
Javi Gracia has come in and made an immediate impact on the team tactically, as we look harder to beat and still as good going forward, which is exactly what was needed.
With plenty of games to go, including some against the teams in and around us, there is a great chance of survival because we have got one of the strongest squads of the teams involved in the battle and importantly we have goals in our team.
It won’t be easy and it’s certainly not job done, but the win over Wolves was absolutely huge in the landscape of the season and survival now looks far more likely.
