Laura Woods and Gabby Agbonlahor disagree with talkSPORT host claim about Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch

Laura Woods and Gabby Agbonlahor disagree with Simon Jordan’s suggestion that Jesse Marsch has been disrespectful to former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking to talkSPORT yesterday [12 April], Marsch suggested that Bielsa worked his players too hard in training, leading to talkSPORT host Jordan saying it was “an implicit and explicit criticism of Marcelo Bielsa“.

Ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan then went on to criticise the job Marsch is doing at Elland Road but that led to Woods disagreeing with him on talkSPORT today.

“There we go,” said Woods, as shown in a video on talkSPORT’s YouTube account after Marsch’s interview was replayed. “Really honest and really open with talkSPORT Breakfast yesterday.

“I heard Simon Jordan, I think it was, on Jim White’s show saying that he wouldn’t have recommended being that open because he thought it was disrespectful to Marcelo Bielsa.

“And he said Jesse Marsch isn’t exactly pulling up trees so far.

“I kind of disagree, actually, because I think the last four games to be unbeaten, yes, albeit two of those teams are in the relegation and one in Southampton…”

Ally McCoist then chipped in to say: “They’re the games they had to win, Woodsie. You could argue they’re the games they had to win.”

Woods agreed that was a “good point”.

Agbonlahor later added: “Simon can’t talk, he hammers everyone. He can’t say a word.”

Ridiculous

Is it time to get over Bielsa?

Yes, he did wonders at Elland Road and yes, he’s gone down as a modern-day legend among Leeds United fans.

But Marsch is the man in charge now and Marsch is the man who’s led this team away from the Premier League’s relegation zone and overseen an improvement in the injury situation.

We’ve seen Leeds fans hitting out at Marsch for his comments about Bielsa but all the American has done is said what everyone was already saying about Bielsa anyway.

We all knew it. Bielsa over-worked the players, refused to expand on the squad size and as a result, had a never-ending injury crisis.

It’s true. It’s factual.

Don’t moan about Marsch for simply saying what everyone else was saying anyway.

And for once, we agree with Agbonlahor as the ex-Aston Villa forward is right in suggesting that Jordan cannot speak about being critical.

Marsch stated widely-known facts. That’s all.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch has no choice but to bomb this 29-year-old out of Elland Road.
