'Laughable', 'Rent-free' - Many Leeds fans fire back at talkSPORT 'agenda' after stupid claim
Leeds United fans have hit back at Jason Cundy after he claimed on talkSPORT that the Whites defend like a pub team.
It is an unfair dig from the pundit given Leeds’ success this season, particularly as teams like Fulham and Aston Villa looked far worse at the back on Wednesday.
We have a poor defensive record this term, conceding the second-highest amount in the division, but our style of play is clearly paying off.
Leeds are 11th in the table and boast wins against top teams like Leicester and Everton.
We are considerably better than West Brom and Fulham, with the two other promoted teams in the bottom three.
Many supporters have made that case in response to Cundy’s comments and have also pointed out our injury issues.

Replacing Ben White was always going to be tough but Bielsa has not had much luck given the injuries to Robin Koch and Diego Llorente.
They have featured just 13 times between them, so it is not exactly fair to judge Leeds’ defending currently, particularly as the inexperienced Pascal Struijk is playing.
It is worth pointing out that we have defended well at times too.
Manchester City only scored once in a draw at Elland Road and we have kept clean sheets in matches against Everton and Arsenal.
Our style may make us more vulnerable at the back but it has allowed us to be the fifth-highest scorers and gain 29 points from 21 games.
Many Leeds fans would have taken that at the start of the season, and here is how some of them reacted to Cundy’s comments.
You guys at @talkSPORT have a serious agenda against Leeds. Take a look at the league table and see where they are compared to the other 2 teams who came up from the championship and change the record. It’s boring now

Absolute rubbish!! Everyone of that starting eleven last night are having their first season in the premier league. To be sat 11th in the league with the same amount of wins as Jose mourinho and Chelsea is a great feat alone. We will ways remain rent free 🙌🇦🇷 in bielsa we trust

I'm sure the same pundit will say that Liverpool etc, are suffering more due to injuries, but yet won't mention that, apart from Raphinha, all of our summer signings, including 2 defenders long term, were injured. If I wasn't used to it, I would think there was an agenda!!

A newly promoted team that hasn’t had a consistent defence all season. Robin koch injured and llorente injured. We’re 11th in our first season back and 15 points clear of the relegation zone what more do you want 😂

Laughable again – yeah it was poor defending but does anyone actually do ant research at talkSPORT to establish that our two first choice centre halves are on the treatment table – of course they don’t. 11th so far after 16 years out of big time Is pretty impressive for put team

What I will say to these so called pundits, is where did they honestly expect Leeds to finish at the start of the season. How did they think they would fare during the season. It’s as though they expected us to get top 4 and we are under achieving 😂😂

Leeds are level with Liverpool and Spurs, and are outdoing Wolves, Palace, Everton, Fulham, Newcastle, West Brom, and Sheff Utd on clean sheets kept this season.
And that’s after spending nearly all of it without an established back line.
Pub league defending, indeed. #lufc

You know what…. you are 100% correct. We should sit back and defend like West Brom. Or play like Fulham and not get any results. Teams get promoted and park the bus and are openly criticised… Leeds dont and actually entertain football fans and are criticised.

Sitting 11th after coming up from the championship whilst WBA and Fulham are down the bottom struggling…and you wonder why people are impressed? 🧐 https://t.co/gI9iOLb9nV
