Kris Boyd reacts as Leeds score twice in two minutes vs Wolves: ‘Unbelievable’

Kris Boyd was thrilled by a stunning couple of minutes in the first half of Leeds United’s clash with Wolves on Saturday.

The Whites welcomed the Old Gold to Elland Road, having beaten Manchester United 2-1 on Monday.

Looking to further bolster their chances of survival, Daniel Farke’s side looked to start quickly against the league’s basement dwellers, whose relegation can be confirmed by results elsewhere.

After a frantic opening period with multiple Leeds chances, the hosts would net a quickfire double in the 18th and 20th minutes, courtesy of James Justin and Noah Okafor.

With a trip to Wembley coming up next week, the West Yorkshire outfit are in fine form as they look to end the season strongly.

Kris Boyd stunned as Leeds race into lead vs Wolves

Early in the encounter, it was clear that Farke’s side had gained the ascendancy against Wolves.

Playing with the same confidence seen against Manchester United, the Whites would net twice in two minutes, with an overhead kick from Justin, followed up by a finish inside the box from Okafor.

Reacting on Soccer Saturday, pundit Boyd was full of praise for Leeds, with defender Justin coming up first.

“It’s an overhead kick. It was saved by Bentley, it came back out and what a finish this is.

“Justin is able to get his body into position, and the overhead kick goes in through the keeper’s legs. It’s no more than what they have deserved,” he said, before Farke’s side would go on and double their lead directly after the restart.

“Leeds are rampant,” added Boyd. “It was two on Monday (for Okafor), it’s one already this afternoon.

“What a counterattack this is from Leeds United. Down the right-hand side, Aaronson fires a lovely ball across, takes everyone out, and there he is coming in at the back post – Okafor fires it into the ground, past the goalkeeper, 2-0.”

With the Whites in firm control, Boyd concluded, saying: “Leeds have been unbelievable this opening 20 minutes.”

Leeds are playing with much-needed confidence amid survival battle

After a string of draws heading into the international break, Leeds got back to winning ways in stunning fashion on Monday, with a dominant performance at Old Trafford.

Welcoming Wolves to Elland Road, it was clear that this confidence has been carried through, with survival now all but a guarantee for Farke and his men.
