Kieran Maguire: Leeds currently set for £17.3m windfall from new Premier League TV deal in USA
Leeds United are currently set for £17.3million from the new Premier League TV mega-deal in the United States with NBC this week.
That is if they finish where they are currently sitting in the table, with hopes that the Whites can climb higher than 15th.
Kieran Maguire shared how things will work from next season after the Premier League sealed a deal with NBC worth up to $2billion dollars over six years.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Maguire shared a brilliant insight into how the money will be distributed.
“Based on the new distribution rules for international rights, the side that wins the Premier League will earn £28.4million,” he wrote.
Losing your spot in the Premier League really is a huge blow, but the financial ramifications of that can be shattering.
There are new deals nearly every single month, and every single one of them financially benefits each club at the same time.
As soon as you drop out of that, it really is a huge shock to the system.
Leeds will be praying they can keep their spot in the big time, and Marcelo Bielsa is the man to turn around what has been nothing more than an average start.
Another £17.3million and potentially more would be huge and would add to what the 49ers Enterprise have pumped into the club recently.
With more investment planned, this is another incentive to add on top of that as the Whites look to establish themselves in the Premier League over a long period of time.
