Kevin Campbell makes devastating Leeds United 'trap door' relegation call
Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell has predicted Leeds United to fall through the “trap door” on the last day of the season amid their crunch relegation battle.
Jesse Marsch’s side travels to west London to face Brentford where they have to trump Burnley to have any chance of survival.
The pair currently sits level 35 points, but a better goal difference sees the Clarets ahead of the Whites ahead of their clash with Newcastle at Turf Moor with Campbell expressing his “fear” for the Elland Road outfit.
“I’ve feared for Leeds for a while,” he said as per Sky Sports Super Sunday Matchday [May 22, 11:51].
“Going to Brentford, I still fear for Leeds. I think unfortunately Leeds go down the trap door and go down and Burnley stays up.”
This is it, this is what this whole second half of the season has been building up to.
When Marsch came in and steadied the ship it looked as if Leeds would be safe from relegation.
They sat a comfortable enough distance to somewhat relax but a combination of a dip in their form and Everton and Burnley stepping it up has left them in serious danger.
The odds are stacked heavily against them with the Whites travelling away to a very good Brentford side whilst Burnley has the backing of the Turf Moor crowd as they welcome the Toon.
With that being said, Eddie Howe’s side has been in excellent form in 2022 and hopefully, they can do Leeds a favour.
All Leeds can do is go out and win their game and that might prove difficult against a very good Brentford side who have taken the Premier League by storm in their first season.
It would be crushing if Burnley dropped points and the Whites failed to capitalise on it.
