Kaveh Solhekol: Liverpool want to balance books, Takumi Minamino likely to leave with Leeds interested

Kaveh Solhekol has shared live on Sky Sports that Liverpool want to balance the books with Leeds United target Takumi Minamino a possible deadline day departure.

The Reds secured the signing of Luis Diaz from Porto today (30 January), and could look to move some of their current squad out.

Leeds have been strongly linked with Minamino, and this move could open the door based on Solhekol’s latest update.

Speaking live on Sky Sports‘ Transfer Show (30th January 6:11 pm), Solhekol shared the latest news coming from Anfield.

“Liverpool ideally would like to balance the books, there are three players who could leave,” he said.

“The first one is Minamino, there’s been interest in him from Leeds and Monaco. Liverpool value him at £20million, he could be a possible departure.”

Door open.

It is time for Victor Orta to take full advantage of this and get a deal over the line for Minamino, even if it is on loan.

A loan move has been mooted by the Daily Mail, with Marcelo Bielsa “desperate” for more creativity at Elland Road.

Minamino himself would surely be desperate to get a move and start playing more given his spell of horror at Anfield, where he has hardly played – even with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane away.

With injuries going through our squad, the final third is just one of many issues to deal with given Patrick Bamford’s shocking record this season.

With Dan James, Rodrigo and Tyler Roberts all pushing for that, a specialist for that number 10 role would be appreciated.
