Karen Carney delivers Leeds United transfer verdict after what she saw recently

Karen Carney has been impressed with Jesse Marsch and the players Leeds United have brought in this summer.

Carney had been critical of Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa, but thinks that Marsch is taking the club in the right direction and ensuring they’re in no real threat of relegation.

Despite their loss against Brighton over the weekend, she was impressed with the overall approach to the game and how well coached the side are.

Speaking on the Premier League Weekend Roundup, Carney said, “It’s been a good transfer window for them. I like the players he’s brought on. I like what Jesse Marsch has done.”

Good point

Despite losing two of their best players, Leeds look to be in relatively good shape this season and Marsch deserves credit for it.

There was scepticism when he recommended players he previously worked with as there were doubts as to whether or not they would adapt to the Premier League.

However, it seems like those concerns were premature as things appear to be looking good for Leeds and the American.

The cherry on the cake will be a new striker and hopefully, Leeds can get that deal done before the transfer deadline on September 1.

They cannot just rely on Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt this season as one is injury prone and the other one is too young to take up that responsibility.

While Rodrigo has started the season strongly, it does make sense for a proper number nine to be signed so that the Spaniard can revert to a number 10 role.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could make a final push for an international striker after he was left out of his side’s matchday squad last weekend.
