Kalvin Phillips has revealed that Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas have not trained since Leeds United drew 1-1 with Luton on Tuesday.

Cooper and Dallas were both substituted off in the stalemate after starting due to injuries but after the match, Marcelo Bielsa shared that he expects Cooper to be fine to play Blackburn this weekend while Dallas is a major doubt.

Speaking to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth, Phillips has shared how neither of the players have trained with the rest of the squad at Thorp Arch in the last two days but the club is “hopeful” they’ll be fit in time to play Rovers on Saturday.

It is imperative that Leeds get these two players back up to full fitness in time to play against Blackburn because we need a positive result after failing to beat Luton on Tuesday.

It was not a great display earlier this week and in order to bounce back to winning ways and retain top spot in the Championship, Leeds really have to beat Blackburn.

Cooper has been the most under-rated player at Elland Road this season, in our opinion.

Ben White has understandably – and deservedly – taken all the plaudits for his magnificent performances at centre-back but that has often taken the shine off of Cooper’s displays.

Gaetano Berardi is more than good enough to step up if the ex-Hull man misses out but it would be best if the defence was at full-strength this weekend.

And, for that to happen, Dallas must be fit too but Bielsa seems to think there’s a lower chance of that happening.

Ezgjan Alioski has been brilliant in the last couple of weeks so we fully trust him to supply the goods from left-back if called upon.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are eyeing up this £5.1million Bundesliga striker.
