A bad night for Leeds United could get even worse, with the club facing potential injuries to two of its key players after a 1-1 draw with Luton.
Liam Cooper went off in the early stages of the game with what looked like a really painful back injury.
Stuart Dallas got Leeds level after Luton had taken a shock lead in the second half but he limped off towards the end holding his hamstring.
The news from Marcelo Bielsa in the post-match press conference was mixed.
According to The Athletic journalist Phil Hay, Bielsa said that Cooper should be okay for the Blackburn game after taking a kick to the back.
However, the issue for Dallas looks like it’s a muscle problem and he is likely to be ruled out for the Blackburn game at least.
That would be a huge blow for Leeds, who don’t have much strength in depth.
Dallas has been an ever-present for Bielsa this season, playing in a variety of positions but starring on the left.
It would likely mean Gjanni Alioski coming on from the start on Saturday and the good news is that he’s looked bright both against Fulham and against Luton tonight.
The other option for Bielsa is Barry Douglas, but he hasn’t been used much all season.
The news about Cooper is much better. Cooper and Ben White are the partnership at the back that Leeds need between now and the end of the season.
Gaetano Berardi suffered the ignominy of being subbed as a sub today and that won’t have done his confidence any good at all.
