Kalvin Phillips sends brilliant message after Leeds United loss v Man City
Kalvin Phillips has shared his instant reaction that it was not the result they wanted after Leeds United suffered a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City.
The Whites did well in patches during their Premier League clash at Elland Road on Saturday, but some sloppy defending coupled with some brilliant attacking display from the visitors saw City emerging out as clear winners.
The home support has been outstanding and Elland Road was rocking despite the result. Phillips has hailed the fans for their “amazing” support.
Phillips wrote on Twitter: “Not the result we wanted but we’ll keep on fighting. Amazing support as always.”
Poor defending
It wasn’t a bad performance from the home side, and to be fair they were not outclassed by Pep Guardiola’s side, despite the scoreline.
Leeds made it hard for them, and Phillips was superb in the middle of the park.
Despite going 2-0 down, the Whites enjoyed a brilliant spell where they tried to get a goal back which showed the mentality of the players.

The Elland Road atmosphere was electrifying as the fans tried to cheer up the players to give their best shot.
In the end, they couldn’t find a way to score. The defence has improved under Jesse Marsch, but they still need to stop avoiding making such mistakes.
Without Liam Cooper, who picked up an injury just before the game, and Stuart Dallas, who got injured just before halftime, the task got really difficult for the Whites.
Leeds are still five points above Everton who play Chelsea at Goodison Park tomorrow.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
