Kalvin Phillips could be out till February after picking up hamstring injury v Brentford
Leeds United could be without Kalvin Phillips for two months after he picked up a hamstring injury against Brentford, according to The Telegraph.
The England international left the pitch shortly before the Bees equaliser on Sunday (5 December) at Elland Road, and initial assessment has revealed the 26-year-old could be out until February 2022.
Phillips headed straight down the tunnel after being withdrawn in the 55th minute, and while his recovery will be continually monitored to determine a return date, he’s expected to have a spell on the sidelines.

Massive blow
Losing the influential midfielder is the last thing Leeds need right now, and while Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas, Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente can all play in the defensive midfield role, Marcelo Bielsa will be gutted with the development.
Phillips is arguably the Whites’ most important player, and being without him for up to 10 games could cost them a lot of points.
He was briefly unavailable for selection earlier this season due to a calf injury, missing the games against Southampton and Wolves, and it was not surprising that Leeds picked up just a point from both games.

The Elland Road outfit lost seven out of the nine Premier League games Phillips missed in 2020-21, and they could struggle without him going forward.
He played at centre-back in recent games, and Bielsa will need someone capable of providing such quality and versatility.
The Argentine is not a fan of the January transfer window, but the injury to Phillips could force his hands, and Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani have to come up with a way to get in a quality midfielder next month.
In other Leeds United news, a major update on Whites January bid to sign attacker has been provided, with pen-to-paper imminent.
