Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie to fly out from Turin at 7:30am UK time ahead of Leeds United transfer

Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie will reportedly fly out from Turin on Sunday, 28 January to secure his Leeds United transfer.

According to Gazzetta journalist Giovanni Albanese, he will leave at 8:30am local time which is 7:30 in the United Kingdom in order to complete his medical.

This will be Leeds’ third signing of the window with them already completing deals for Max Wober and Georginio Rutter.

Via Twitter, Albanese wrote, “McKennie will undergo the medical examinations with #Leeds tomorrow: departure from Turin set for 8.30.”

Announcement on Sunday?

He’s flying into the United Kingdom early in the morning so everything should be sorted by the afternoon and there’s nothing else remaining.

According to Fabrizio Romano, there is an agreement with Juventus over the structure of the deal as well as with the player in terms of his salary.

The only thing that is now left is for him to complete his medical and for the club doctors to give him a clean bill of health before the move is made official.

Clubs tend to time their announcements at peak hours and it’ll be great if they can do it once the FA Cup games for the day are done.

If not Sunday, an announcement should be made by Monday and if it’s not, there will be an air of nervousness going into transfer deadline day.

We’ve seen last-minute hijacks happen in the past and while that is highly unlikely now there’s still a one per cent chance until it’s official.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites appear to be on the cusp of another January signing as a player’s agent jets into the United Kingdom to conduct final transfer talks.
