'Have to admire' - Neil Redfearn singles out Leeds player after moment of magic v Fulham

Leeds United playmaker Pablo Hernandez returned to action in the 3-0 win against Fulham on Saturday and immediately made a difference.

The Spaniard was sorely missed in the Welsh capital last Sunday as the Whites fell to a disappointing defeat against Cardiff.

Marcelo Bielsa decided to keep Hernandez on the bench to start with at Elland Road, but he came on for a superb cameo in the second half of the clash.

Hernandez took the game away from Fulham with his influence on the ball, with his assist for Jack Harrison’s goal out of this world.

Former Whites boss Neil Redfearn was blown away by Hernandez, singling out the playmaker after his performance.

“45 minutes of this fella yesterday, sometimes you just have to admire,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

All you have to do is look at Hernandez’ assist for Harrison’s goal and you see just how easy it is for the Spaniard when he is on form.

One quick look over his shoulder and the veteran was able to hit a 40-yard pass over the head of Joe Bryan which saw Harrison run on to it and put the game beyond doubt.

The 35-year-old’s calming influence saw Leeds take control. Hernandez completed 13 passes in the final third in his 44 minutes of action, with only one player managing more on the entire pitch [LUFC DATA].

Bielsa confirmed that he took off Hernandez towards the end because there was no need to risk his previous injury even further. We expect Leeds to make no changes against Luton, but it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see the Spaniard return.
